Each fall, the Office of Faculty Affairs celebrates Health Sciences faculty who have demonstrated significant commitment to
inclusive mentorship of junior faculty, residents, fellows, postdoctoral scholars and/or students -- particularly to mentees from groups underrepresented in academic medicine and the sciences.
Awardees are recognized at our
annual Health Sciences Mentoring Excellence Celebration and receive $1000 to support their mentorship activities. Awardees also select a fruit-bearing tree planted in their honor. The trees form the Health Sciences Mentorship Grove located on campus at Roger’s Urban Farmlab. Fruit harvested from these trees help support food insecure students through the
Triton Food Pantry.
