Diversity at UC San Diego
Identifying and correcting disparities in health care is central to our curriculum. Training emphasizes social determinants of health and access to care. Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) principles are integrated into all facets of education, clinical settings, administration and student life.

Core Curriculum
The C.O.A.S.T. curriculum, implemented for the class entering in fall of 2023 is designed to prepare and educate physicians to excel in core competencies, navigate complex health care systems and provide specialty experiences to support your career goals.

Curriculum Innovations
The Mentor Clinician Program aims to transform the manner in which we train future physicians by delivering individualized mentorship to medical students from experienced Mentor Clinicians, with an emphasis on modeling empathetic and compassionate care.
Financial Aid Information
The UC San Diego Health Sciences Financial Aid Office is dedicated to supporting medical students in navigating their financial needs throughout their education. We offer comprehensive guidance on financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, and loans, tailored to meet the unique needs of our students. Our office provides personalized financial aid counseling and resources to ensure students can focus on their academic and professional goals without undue financial stress.

The Human Condition
The Human Condition, an annual humanities magazine, encourages creative endeavors that encompass the experiences, emotions and challenges that make us all who we are. It is created solely by the School of Medicine students.
Special Programs
Students at UC San Diego School of Medicine can apply for admission to special programs which provide enhanced medical education with additional mentors and focused curriculum on specific areas of interest.
