Dr. Jeremy Hoisak is an Assistant Professor and is based at our South Bay Treatment Facility. He serves as the Technology Chief for the Department's Sarcoma & Bone Tumor Disease Team.
He is dedicated clinical physicist with considerable expertise in multiple advanced treatment techniques including deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) for left-sided breast cancer, electronic brachytherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for lung, spine and liver, and surface image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He is the lead Editor of the first comprehensive textbook focused on surface-guided radiotherapy to be published soon. His research interests include advanced imaging for treatment planning, quality assurance automation, and treatment machine fault analysis.
Dr. Hoisak serves on several national committees in the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) including the Professional Mentorship Working Group and the New Professionals Sub-Committee. He is also a lecturer for the UC San Diego Medical Physics Residency Program and leads a small-group problem solving course designed to prepare physics residents for board examination.
