UC San Diego HEAR Program

The Healer Education Assessment & Referral (HEAR) offers education, anonymous stress and depression screening, referral and support to all UC San Diego Health learners and workers. In addition, HEAR offers short term, no-cost, confidential counseling for residents and fellows and individual “check-in” meetings with trainees and non-GME physicians.

UC San Diego Physician Well Being Committee

The Physician Well Being Committee promotes the wellness of UC San Diego Health's medical staff and house staff physicians by early intervention in cases of possible impairment and by facilitation of health promoting practices.

Headspace Care

Headspace Care (formerly Ginger) is a mental health app that puts behavioral coaches, self-care resources and video-based therapy and psychiatry services at your fingertips. Trainees can sign up for a free account with their UC San Diego email.

LiveHealth Online

Discuss sensitive topics with a therapist in the privacy and comfort of your own home (or other private location), either through online video or by phone. You can also chat with psychiatrists through LiveHealth Online Psychology who can help you manage mental health medications that you’re taking.

Anthem Behavioral Health Resource Center

Available to UC San Diego trainees, this is a great way to access Mental Health resources and support to address a wide range of issues (e.g. anxiety, depression, substance use, eating disorders). Anthem experts will work with you at no extra cost to find treatment programs and arrange confidential counseling and support services that meet your individual and family needs. Available 24/7.
