Core Topics in Biomedical Sciences (CTBS) is available to all students accepted into the UC San Diego School of Medicine (SOM) or Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) by June 15. SSPPS students are encouraged to attend prior to their second year.
If more than 45 qualified students apply, preference will be given to students with majors outside of the biological sciences and to students who have not been enrolled in full-time study for a year or more.
Students admitted to the CTBS course are charged a nominal registration fee (usually less than $100). They are also responsible for their own housing, board, and other expenses.
