Dear School of Medicine Alumni,
This has been an important and energizing year for UC San Diego School of Medicine. After months of preparation, our LCME accreditation visit took place in April, and I am proud to report that we showed up as the outstanding community that we are. Everyone came together to showcase UC San Diego School of Medicine, and I am grateful for the many faculty, staff, students and alumni who helped make that possible. We are looking forward to the feedback and remain confident in our ongoing path of continuous improvement.
I also had the privilege of attending the Illustrious Alumni Awards in New York City recently, which was powerful and exciting. I have heard from so many of you that your time at UC San Diego shaped your lives in profound ways and that you value re-engaging with our community. I invite you to join me at the next Illustrious Alumni Awards on Thursday, November 5, in San Diego, during Homecoming and the Triton Alumni and Welcome Center grand opening celebration.

Dear Fellow Alumni,
As we reflect on the close of the academic year, I am grateful for the continued enthusiasm and engagement of our School of Medicine alumni community. Over the past several months, it has been wonderful to connect with alumni at events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and through virtual programs, and to see the pride so many of you carry for UC San Diego. These moments are a meaningful reminder that our connection to the School of Medicine continues long after graduation.
Our alumni community remains a vital source of support for one another, our students and the future of medicine. I look forward to continuing this work together and seeing many of you at upcoming programs and events.

School of Medicine alumni gathered in Los Angeles on January 22 for a soirée hosted by Adrienne Youdim, MD ’02, and Behrooz Torkian, MD. Guests reconnected with classmates and friends in a warm, welcoming setting.
San Diego Alumni Mixer
Dean Barbara Jung, MD, and Gerald Tolbert, MD ’00, hosted School of Medicine alumni in La Jolla on May 13 for a beautiful evening celebrating UC San Diego connections and School of Medicine alumni pride.

All Roads Lead to Match Day
This year's graduating class of medical students forged new and winding paths on their journey into medicine. From second careers to parenthood and one of the youngest students to ever graduate from the School of Medicine, Match Day was an exciting day for students and families.
Class of 2026 Joins the Alumni Community
UC San Diego School of Medicine celebrated its 55th graduating class and welcomed 125 new physicians into the alumni community. As they begin residency training in California and across the country, the Class of 2026 carries forward a shared commitment to discovery, service and compassionate care.
