Commitment to Academic Medicine

The UC San Diego MSTP provides research and clinical training to highly qualified students for whom prior exposure to medicine and strong research experiences indicate a commitment for a career in academic medicine. In keeping with the extensive variety and collaborative nature of research in the La Jolla biomedical community, the UC San Diego MSTP offers a wealth of scientific opportunities for its students and a flexible educational program for individual trainees.

We plan to continue efforts to recruit and support a broad range of trainees from communities that have historically had limited access to physician-scientist training pathways.
