HIGHER EDUCATION EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND III (HEERF III) GRANT APPLICATION AND INFORMATION

Updated on November 16, 2021: The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) authorized the HEERF III to use this new federal funding to provide direct emergency financial grants to students for expenses related to any component of their cost of attendance, including: tuition; food; housing; health care (including mental health); and childcare. Unlike the CARES Act, the CRRSAA requires that institutions prioritize students with exceptional financial need.

The Health Sciences (School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences) Financial Aid Office will automatically disburse funds to financial aid recipients that we determined to have exceptional financial need. These funds we be available to view on the student's Tritonlink account by November 16, 2021.

The Health Sciences Financial Aid Department realizes that exceptional financial need can be represented by other factors, including situational financial need brought about by economic hardship. Therefore, students who have not been automatically awarded HEERF III funds will be provided the opportunity to apply for funding via a HEERF III Application. This application will be emailed to Health Sciences students by November 16, 2021 and posted below until all funds are exhausted. The application will be brief and allow students with exceptional financial need to provide basic information, including a short description of the relevant expenses. Awarding priority for students who file HEERF III applications will be given to students in the order they are received.
