Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) Grant Application and Information
HEERF II funds have been exhausted. Students who have submitted an application will receive an award decision email by April 9.
The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) authorized HEERF II to use this new federal funding to provide direct emergency financial grants to students for expenses related to any component of their cost of attendance, including: tuition; food; housing; health care (including mental health); and childcare. Unlike the CARES Act, CRRSAA requires that institutions prioritize students with exceptional financial need.
The Health Sciences (School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences) Financial Aid Office will automatically disburse funds to financial aid recipients that we determined to have exceptional financial need.

Health Sciences Financial Aid Department realizes that exceptional financial need can be represented by other factors, including situational financial need brought about by economic hardship.Therefore, we have provided the opportunity for students to apply for funding via a HEERF II application, which is posted below. The brief application allows students with exceptional financial need to provide basic information, including a short description of the relevant expenses. Awarding priority for students who file HEERF II applications will be given to students who did not previously receive a HEERF II grant. Due to limited funding all applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis and amount of requests will be granted based on funding available.
CARES ACT GRANT APPLICATION
At this time, all CARES Act Grant funding allocated to the Health Sciences Financial Aid Office has been awarded. Please contact your financial aid counselor if you have any questions.
FIRST TIME BORROWER FORMS & MASTER PROMISSORY nOTES (MPN)
If this is the first time you have received any of the school-based loans listed on your award letter you will you will notified via the loan servicer ECSI to view and E-sign an electronic version of the applicable Master Promissory Note (MPN).
As a first time borrower, if you are unable to complete the MPN electronically through ECSI, a PDF link is provided below. If you choose this option you will need to print, complete and return the MPN as a hard copy with a wet signature to the address listed below.
