Entrance Health Requirements
It is a requirement of the School of Medicine that all incoming students
fulfill health requirements PRIOR to entering the university. Students
must sign the School of Medicine Admission Health Requirements form and
bring to a health care provider for completion. Requirements include
proof of Tdap (tetunus, diphteria, and pertussis) vaccination within the
past 10 years, proof of the Hepatis B 3 shot vaccine series, and
positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and Hepatitis B.
Tuberculosis screening must be performed within 6 months of school
entry, preferably a Quantiferon blood test. All health requirements
must be fulfilled prior to clinical rotations. The appropriate forms and
detailed information about health requirements are sent to new students
well in advance of the deadline.
