Student-Run Free Clinic Project Repeats with Gold Rating
The University of California San Diego School of Medicine’s Student-Run Free Clinic Project has again earned a gold rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Quality Standards Program.
The Student-Run Free Clinic Project is a community-based clinic, with four locations across the county. Students from the School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences provide primary and specialty care, restorative dental care, pharmacy, vaccines, food, acupuncture, social work, support groups and mental health services, all under the supervision of volunteer physicians from throughout San Diego County.
To earn the gold rating, the free clinic adheres to policies and procedures that demonstrate its commitment to quality standards in the following areas: patient care, clinic responsibilities, administration, credentialing and privileging, and risk management.
The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinic's mission is to build healthy communities for all through quality, equitable, accessible health care. The NAFC and its members are dedicated to ensuring that patients receive access to quality health care.
