Our Research

The Aceves lab focuses its work on pediatric eosinophilic esophagitis, a disease whose prevalence is increasing worldwide. The disorder is becoming a significant healthcare burden.

The lab performs clinical and translational studies to investigate the impact and mechanisms of tissue remodeling on eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). We use primary human esophageal cells as an in vitro model system to understand the mechanisms of epithelial, fibroblast and smooth muscle changes in EoE.
