UCSD Global Health Program (GHP)

Degrees in Global Health

The UCSD Global Health Program (GHP) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate degree program offering a Master of Arts in Global Health, Bachelor of Arts in Global Health, Bachelor of Science in Global Health, and a Global Health Minor

The GHP is student-centered and emphasizes a balance between critical thinking and real world experience. Offering a comprehensive initiation into the exciting and rapidly growing field of Global Health, the interdisciplinary degrees aid in the understanding and productively intervene in processes of health, illness, and healing across the globe. Current course offerings and course descriptions can be found here.

An important feature of the program is a Global Health Field Experience at a research, service, or clinical site either in the United States or abroad, which for majors culminates in a capstone seminar and senior thesis.

The GHP also sponsors a range of events, from the critical dialogues of the Quarterly Conversations in Global Health to the annual Global Health Field Experience Expo and Horizons of Global Health Research Symposium, a vast culmination of the year's global health work.
