Dr. Megan Orr is a current PGY-3 resident. From an early age, Megan found herself drawn to the field of cancer care. Her experience working alongside radiation oncologists at the Medical College of Wisconsin exposed her to the vast array of comprehensive care they provide. Witnessing the seamless integration of teamwork, cutting-edge technology, and innovative treatments, Megan discovered her calling in helping patients and their families navigate the complex challenges of their healthcare journeys.

Central to Megan's commitment to radiation oncology is her appreciation for the pivotal role communication, empathy, and education play in this field. She understands that fostering open dialogues, demonstrating heartfelt compassion, and empowering patients with knowledge are essential elements of providing care.

At UC San Diego, Megan is surrounded by an exceptional network of mentors and fellow residents, supported by state-of-the-art technology and afforded opportunities for research and education. She also cherishes the vibrant San Diego outdoors and the joy of spending quality time with her loved ones.

Megan is passionate about clinical education. Leveraging her background in undergraduate and medical education, she actively cultivates growth mindsets and fosters metacognition in herself and her peers. Her ongoing projects include an interactive online platform with real-time feedback to improve contouring education for radiation oncology residents.

Megan grew up in Davis, California. Outside of work, she likes to sing, travel, and try new restaurants. At the end of a long day, Megan loves to unwind with a good book and her cat, Belle, nestled on her lap. ​
