Welcome

We are focused on discovering more effective ways of preventing breast cancer recurrence and metastasis, reducing deaths from this devastating disease.

Specifically, our studies examine the contribution of stem-like breast cancer cells to tumor progression. By investigating key cell survival and differentiation signaling pathways in these cells, we hope to identify critical vulnerabilities that we can exploit to prevent metastasis.

About our lab

Our laboratory is located in the Moores Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center designed to foster collaboration between clinicians and basic scientists with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care.

Our approach incorporates multiple disciplines including developmental biology, pharmacology and integrin signaling with the goal of “changing the game” with respect to identifying new treatment strategies for breast cancer.
