Dr. Taylor Doherty is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Interim Co-chief, Allergy and Immunology at UC San Diego in the division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Doherty received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego in 1994. He was a clinical research coordinator at UC Irvine until beginning medical school in 1998 at Rosalind Franklin University/The Chicago Medical School. He was an internal medicine resident at UC San Diego Medical Center from 2002-2005 followed by a Chief Resident year and Allergy/Immunology fellowship at UC San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital. Since joining the UC San Diego faculty in 2009, Dr. Doherty has maintained an active research program in asthma and allergy with a specific focus on innate type 2 immunity. Additionally, Dr. Doherty cares for adult patients with allergies, asthma, and immune deficiency in addition to teaching residents and medical students.
