About the Lab

The current research in Dr. Raz's laboratory focuses on the fundamentals of host interactions with environmental factors. His team studies host response to microbial Toll-like receptor (TLR) and the non-TLR stimulation. In addition they explore the role of members of the Transient receptor potential (TRP) family by which the host interacts with diverse chemical and biochemical originate from the environment.
His laboratory explores the consequences of these host-environmental interactions on the induction of inflammatory processes and immune responses in the affected host. These include vaccines design against various infectious agents, modulation of allergic diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases and cancer.
