National Professional Development Programs

The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) directs the National Center of Leadership in Academic Medicine (NCLAM) for junior faculty. This is a 7-month professional development program with a mentoring component. 

The UC San Diego Rady School of Management and other programs (see below) offer a variety of leadership development activities for all levels of faculty. OFA supports participation in local and national programs.

Funding Opportunities for New and Innovative Ideas Related to Faculty Development

While no funds are available, request for funds to support new and innovative initiatives related to Health Sciences faculty development will be considered by OFA on a case by case basis.

The general campus Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) offers grant and co-sponsorship for innovative programs that advance UC San Diego strategic plan diversity goals, including innovation grants, co-sponsorships, and excellence awards. See EDI Funding Opportunities
