Since 2011, the Center for the Future of Surgery (CFS) has provided hands-on experiences with the latest surgical, robotic, endoscopic, laparoscopic, minimally invasive, open and microscopic techniques.  The Center has 22 surgical/endoscopic stations and a research suite where physicians and scientists work together across disciplines and collaborate to deliver new discoveries.

  • Demonstrate the safe and effective use of ETHICON PHYSIOMESH™ Open Flexible Composite Mesh Device, ULTRAPRO ADVANCED™ Macroporous Partially Absorbable Mesh, PROCEED® Surgical Mesh, ETHICON SECURESTRAP® Absorbable Strap Fixation Device, and biologic meshes in a hands-on lab.
  • Demonstrate the safe and effective use of STRATAFIX™ Knotless Tissue Control Devices
  • Define patient selection, preparation and positioning for minimally invasive Bariatric, Colorectal and Hernia procedures.
  • Demonstrate minimally invasive procedures in a hands-on lab setting.
  • Discuss the benefit of surgical team training in Minimally Invasive surgical procedures.
  • Discuss methods to reduce surgical team challenges intra-operatively.
