UC San Diego School of Medicine will be following the recommendations released by the Coalition for Physician Accountability and will not be able to accept visiting medical students for the 2021-2022 academic year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, subinternship rotations at UCSD Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery are currently unavailable. In response, we have developed our Otolaryngology Virtual Subinternship for 4th Year Medical Students for those interested in learning more about our residency training program.

The UC San Diego Otolaryngology Virtual Subinternship for 4th Year Medical Student program will run monthly from August to December 2021 in two week rotations (please see dates listed in the online application form). This is intended for MS4 students. Most meetings will be held via zoom.
Students who are accepted for participation in the UC San Diego Otolaryngology Virtual Subinternship for 4th Year Medical Students rotation will:
- Attend conferences, didactics, and journal club.
- Spend time with our residents
- Meet our faculty one on one and join them during interactive discussions with our residents.
Students interested in applying for our UC San Diego Otolaryngology Virtual Subinternship Rotation should complete the online application form here. Please contact Mrs.Norissa Gastelum, our program coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Once notification is received that the student has been accepted to our subinternship, the student is expected to obtain approval from their home institution for this virtual rotation.
