2018 Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) MIS Fellows Course
September 20-22, 2018

Hosted by UC San Diego's Center for the Future of Surgery, the non-CME course includes a didactic and hands-on learning lab. At the end of the course, surgical fellows will become familiar with GI endoscopes, towers and the instruments used for endoscopic surgery.  Fellows will also be able to identify the most common types of GI pathology and options for management.

2018 Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Care in the Era of Innovation Conference
March 23-24, 2018

Designed for clinical providers including otolaryngologists and speech-language pathologists. The course offers a blend of didactic, interactive and hands-on experiences highlighting state-of-the-art head and neck cancer management. Renowned faculty members will demonstrate the most up to date information regarding surgical, radiographic and systemic treatments including immunotherapy and trans-oral surgical resection. Speech-language pathologists will learn novel diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to promote the highest functional outcomes. Otolaryngologists and speech-language pathologists will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on training that includes trans-oral robotic surgery and video-endoscopic voice and swallowing evaluation.

Society of Neurological Surgeons Boot Camp
March 1-2, 2018

Hosted by UC San Diego's Center for the Future of Surgery, in collaboration with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the SNS Boot Camp will teach an intensive prescribed curriculum vetted by the SNS CORE Council members and residency program directors, demonstrating the ACGME milestones using simulators and didactic lectures over a two-day period.

North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) 28th Annual Meeting Advance Program Hands-On Course
February 14-15, 2018

Hosted by UC San Diego's Center for the Future of Surgery, the pre-meeting dissection workshop of the 28th Annual NASBS Meeting offers participants hands-on cadaver dissection sessions and didactic sessions. Modules will take participants through open and endoscopic exercises to the central, lateral, and posterior skull base. The two-day cadaveric course is to promote anatomical understanding and practice of complex approaches to the skull base. Where possible different approaches to the same region will be employed with the benefit of contrasting and comparing the achieved exposure.
