Dr. James Brian Brewer’s research program focuses on the development and application of advanced neuroimaging approaches for early detection of Alzheimer’s in the clinical setting and also as a measure of the efficacy of new drugs under development. He conducted studies that led to FDA and international regulatory clearance of a widely used tool for brain structure analysis that has been used to assess brain atrophy in over 100,000 clinical patients. Dr. Brewer directs the Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and heads the Imaging Core for the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study.
