Body Imaging Fellowship

The Body Imaging Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego is a clinical fellowship in MRI, CT, US, radiography, and fluoroscopy. The fellowship provides training in state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging of the abdomen and pelvis. Fellows rotate through all of the clinical services within the division and generally choose to spend a relatively large portion of their time on MRI. Prospective fellows wishing to pursue focused training in other aspects of body imaging such as CT, US, or fetal imaging can usually be accommodated and are encouraged to discuss this with the program director.

UC San Diego Health has multiple clinical care locations in La Jolla and Hillcrest, with all subspecialties represented.  We are a Level I trauma center, transplant center, burn center, NCI designated Cancer Center, and tertiary referral center. This fellowship also offers a unique experience in high-risk obstetrical ultrasound at our Fetal Care and Genetics center with an integrated multidisciplinary approach working with perinatologists, genetic counselors, and sonographers. Multiple opportunities exist for research in all modalities. In addition, fellows will teach and present at conferences, including highly educational and impactful tumor boards. Twice weekly educational conferences are conducted for the residents and fellows in general body imaging and dedicated body MR imaging. A dedicated seminar series for the fellows is also presented by the faculty. Fellows may also participate in the educational lectures and seminars prepared for the residency.
