Murphy Lab Teaching

Dr. Murphy serves as core faculty member within UC San Diego's CREST/MAS program where he teaches two courses:

CLRE 252. Health Services Research
Health Services Research (HSR) seeks to find the most effective way to organize, manage, pay for, and deliver high quality health care. HSR involves a wide array of research methodologies stemming from multiple disciplines including epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, health policy, sociology, psychology, and law. This course provides an introduction and overview of the various areas of research used in Health Services Research.​

CLRE 264.Clinical Decision Analysis
This course offers an overview of clinical decision analysis, and cost-effectiveness research in health care. Decision analysis represents a structured scientific approach to decision making for complex medical problems. Cost-effectiveness research seeks to define value within healthcare. This course teaches students the theory and application of building decision trees, and constructing cost-effectiveness models.
