Dr. Jeremy Hoisak is an Associate Professor and is based at our South Bay Treatment Facility. He serves as the Technology Section Chief for the Department's Sarcoma & Bone Tumor Disease Team.

He is a dedicated clinical physicist with considerable expertise in multiple advanced treatment techniques including deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) for left-sided breast cancer, electronic brachytherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for lung, spine and liver, and surface image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He is the lead Editor of the recently published textbook Surface Guided Radiation Therapy, the first comprehensive book dedicated to optical surface image guidance methods in radiation oncology. His research interests include advanced imaging for treatment planning, quality assurance automation, and treatment machine fault analysis.

Dr. Hoisak is a graduate of the UC San Diego National Center for Leadership in Academic Medicine (NCLAM) and serves on several national committees in the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) including the Professional Mentorship Working Group and the New Professionals Sub-Committee. He is also a lecturer for the UC San Diego Medical Physics Residency Program.
