Dr. Xinquan Ning, aka Trent Ning, joined UCSD physics team in 2008. Dr. Ning received his MS degree in Health Physics and his PhD degree in Medical physics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He had worked as a radiation oncology physicist in several hospitals in Indiana and California from 1995 to 2008. Dr. Ning currently serves as the Technology Service Chief for Leukemia/Lymphoma patients, particularly patients undergoing total body irradiation (TBI) in conjunction with high dose chemotherapy. Besides routine physics works Dr. Ning has focused on hospital radiation safety and linac shielding. He is also interested in radiation biophysics, as well as radiotherapy and immune system.
