Dr. John Einck serves as Genitourinary Cancer Section Chief as well as Director of the RMAS GU Brachytherapy Program. Dr. Einck was the founding Radiation Oncology Residency Program Director and remains extremely active in residency education. 

An experienced clinician, Dr. Einck has considerable experience in all radiotherapy approaches used in the treatment of prostate and breast cancer, including IMRT, IGRT and proton therapy. He is an expert in the application of brachytherapy for both malignancies as well as for soft tissue sarcomas. He has been named Top Doctor multiple times by the San Diego Magazine as well as a Fellow by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO). He has received multiple accolades as an educator, both within UC San Diego and from the American Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO). He has published widely, primarily focused on outcome studies in breast and prostate cancer.

As President of the international philanthropic organization Radiating Hope, Dr. Einck is involved in multiple worldwide initiatives focused on bringing modern radiation oncology equipment as well as training to the developing world, particularly to Sub-Saharan Africa. He was instrumental in establishing the first brachytherapy program in the country of Senegal, an essential component of the curative treatment of cervical cancer which is one of the most common malignancies in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is also on the Board of Directors of the charity Cure Cervical Cancer which is focused on early detection and treatment of cervical cancer in the Developing world.
