Born and raised near Berkeley, California, Dr. David Hoffman earned his BS in German and Physics from University of Richmond in 2008. He then received his graduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning his PhD in 2013. He dissertation work expanded hybrid PET/MRI technologies.
Dr. Hoffman then returned to California to perform his CAMPEP medical physics residency at UC Davis Medical Center from 2014-2016 and completed research with novel online external beam quality assurance technologies. Dr. Hoffman is now a UC San Diego medical physicist working in the North County radiation oncology facilities.
Dr. Hoffman is involved with evaluating novel clinical technologies and implementing new treatment techniques. Additionally, he heads the North County electronic brachytherapy program for intraoperative radiation therapy.
