Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD) has been identified as a possible risk factor for future cognitive decline. There is still much to learn about the predictive power of SCD, and studies are lacking on Hispanics/Latinos. Since Hispanics/Latinos are a growing segment of the US population, it is important to investigate the correlates and predictive power of SCD in older adults from diverse backgrounds. The purpose of this study is to characterize SCD in older Hispanics/Latinos with the long-term goal of improving care for this underserved segment of the U.S. population.
The long-term goal of this research is to improve early detection of Alzheimer's disease risk in Hispanics/Latinos and implement early-prevention strategies.
