Welcome to the NeuroCognition and Movement Lab!

The NeuroCognition and Movement Lab’s (NCML) primary mission is to understand the neuropsychological (e.g., cognitive, mood) symptoms in Parkinson’s disease and to develop efficacious interventions to ease these symptoms in Parkinson's disease.

Participate in Research!

During this current pandemic, we have adjusted our research protocols to adhere to VA and CDC COVID-19 guidelines to keep our participants' and staff's safety in mind.

Interventions for Parkinson’s Study

We are recruiting for a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) of Interventions for Parkinson’s disease: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Creative Education Care in individuals with Parkinson's disease. All study visits will be conducted remotely via video-conference.  VA RR&D Merit Award (11/01/2019 - 10/31/2023)

PD-TBI Study

We are also recruiting for a longitudinal study investigating the impacts of chronic mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) on cognition and quality of life in individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

VA CSR&D Merit Award (07/01/2020 - 06/30/2024)

Why Should I Join a Research Study?

Enrolling in research can help us advance the knowledge about and treatments for Parkinson's disease.

"Research participation motivates us, inspires us, empowers us and gives us purpose as we navigate daily life with the disease"
Members of the Michael J Fox Foundation's Patient Council

We would like to thank all of our previous and current participants for their contributions to our studies. Without your participation, we would not be able to answer critical questions that will advance our understanding of Parkinson’s disease.
