Margaret Dyson, Ph.D. earned her doctoral degree at Stony Brook University in Clinical Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of California, San Diego/Veteran’s Affairs Psychology Internship. She is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar under the mentorship of Dr. Lauren Brookman-Frazee on the NIH-funded AIM HI Study.
Dr. Dyson conducted her pre-doctoral training with Dr. Daniel Klein on the Stony Brook Temperament study, a NIMH-funded longitudinal study of temperament as a precursor for later depressive and anxiety disorders in a community sample of children. In this context, her particular area of research focused on: (1) specific facets of temperament that represent risk for psychological disorders, and (2) the examination of the structure and stability of temperament in early childhood. Dr. Dyson is currently completing her postdoctoral fellowship on the AIM HI study, a NIH funded randomized clinical trial examining the effectiveness and implementation of the AIM HI (An Individualized Mental Health Intervention for Children with ASD) intervention in community mental health settings. Her research interests include the examination of community mental therapists’ perspectives on training and delivery of evidence-based practices.
Dr. Dyson has clinical experience delivering empirically supported interventions and conducting psychological assessments with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
