Laboratory Techniques

Our lab focuses on cognitive testing, clinical assessments, and biomarkers to assess the interplay of cognition, environment, and inflammation in bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Neuropsychological assessments include paper-and-pencil tasks to assess memory, language, and spatial abilities, among other cognitive domains. Clinical assessment includes a structured interview and self-report questionnaires. We also use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in combination with neuropsychological assessments to further understand brain functioning and dysfunction while performing tasks across different cognitive domains.
