Congratulations to Dr. Daisuke Koshiyama for receiving the prestigious Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN) Award for Special Contributions to Psychiatric Research. This award recognizes one Japanese psychiatrist each year. Remarkably, since joining our Department as a post doc in 2019, Dr. Koshiyama has co-authored 47 publications, including 20 as first author! Dr. Koshiyama has accepted a faculty appointment at the University of Tokyo. Our Department offers a heartfelt “Goshoshin omedetō gozaimasu” to this exceptionally talented early-career investigator.
Congratulations to Emily Troyer, MD, a NIMH-T32 Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, for receiving AACAP's 2020 Pilot Research Award for Junior Faculty and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows! This award helps reduce the current shortage of clinical researchers by getting young investigators engaged in mental health research programs, and Dr. Troyer will be recognized at the Junior Research Scholar Lunch during AACAP's 68th Annual Meeting in Georgia, Atlanta, October 25-30, 2021. On October 22, 2020, the Department celebrated the Grant family and the new chair and inaugural holder of the Dr. Igor and JoAnn Grant Endowed Chair in Psychiatry - Zafiris "Jeff" Daskalakis, MD, PhD, FRCP(C).
