Dr. Rachel Robitz was born in Canton, OH. She studied biomedical engineering at the University of Cincinnati, and she continued her education at UC for medical school. Prior to college she studied semi-professional ballet, leaving home at age sixteen to study at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Rachel continues to use her ballet training to help others. She taught dance classes to underserved kids and to women coming out of lives of prostitution and addiction. During medical school, she designed and managed a health education and leadership program for prostituted women. Rachel also completed a one-year fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, performing applied epidemiology within the Division of STD Prevention. She is involved with the Association of Medicine & Psychiatry (AMP). One day she hopes to provide integrated care for prostituted young women and other vulnerable populations. Outside of medicine, she loves spending time with her family and friends, practicing yoga, dancing, and playing with her cat.
