Alejandro Meruelo, M.D., Ph.D., second year Resident in the UCSD R25 Psychiatry Research Residency Track, was selected to receive the NIDA – American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Resident Training Award in Substance Abuse and Addiction. This prestigious NIDA-AACAP Award will fund Dr. Meruelo’s project, “Academic achievement based on measures of initiation of cannabis use and prior performance: Improving current screening practices.” He will conduct this project under the mentorship of Dr. Susan Tapert, Professor of Psychiatry.
