Didactics

The curriculum will include weekly didactic seminars, individual and group supervision, journal club, teaching patient rounds and critical incident conferences. The fellow will be involved in teaching within psychiatry as well as to other disciplines, as part of their liaison work, and with the goal of developing leadership and administrative skills.

Fellows will have the following protected didactic activities:

  • Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Core Concepts - weekly 1 hour seminar attended by CL psychiatry fellows, the consultation-liaison behavioral medicine psychology fellow, and rotators on the CL service, which covers fundamental subjects in CL Psychiatry
  • Interprofessional Psychosomatic Medicine Seminar - twice monthly 1 hour seminar attended by CL psychiatry fellows, behavioral medicine psychology fellows and interns, and clinical pharmacy residents, providing interprofessional education and training in the competencies of interprofessional clinical practice
  • Neuropsychiatry Case Conference - quarterly 1 hour case conference including CL psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, neurology, and neuropsychology
  • VA Reproductive Women's Mental Health Training - weekly 1 hour online training for 12 weeks
  • Combined psychiatry fellowship didactics - bimonthly 1 hour long seminars including CL psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and geriatric psychiatry fellows

Fellows will have have 1 hour of individual supervision weekly, alternating between the Program Director and the Associate Program Director for a 6 month period each. Fellows will have a weekly 1 hour psycho-oncology group supervision with the psycho-oncology behavioral medicine fellow and rotators on the psycho-oncology service, as well as a weekly 1 hour Interprofessional Group Supervision with trainees from the CL service, collaborative care, and behavioral medicine.
