As part of this program, UC San Diego School of Medicine students and residents partner with schools and youth-based programs to increase mental health literacy among youth. Scholars from the program collaboratively create 45-minute workshops to address mental health stigma and increase knowledge and awareness of a specific mental health wellness topic. This opportunity encourages medical trainees to interact with their communities, specifically adolescents, and better understand their perspective and learn from their experiences. There is also the opportunity to explore talks for parents and teachers.
We wish to honor each student and instructor’s voice and discuss topics that feel relevant and important to each classroom/group. If you are an interested community partner, please complete this Mental Health Workshop Interest Form.
