Champion of Diversity Award
The Champion of Diversity Award is given annually to a Department of Psychiatry faculty member or trainee who has significantly contributed to diversity at UCSD or in the community via research, clinical activities, teaching, or community involvement.

Recognitions

Luz Garcini, Ph.D. who graduated from the Joint Doctoral Program in June 2016, has received the 2016 APA/APAGS Award for Distinguished Graduate Student in Professional Psychology. This award is given to graduate students who demonstrate exemplary performance in working with an underserved population. Dr. Garcini has been recognized for her research on vulnerable populations; her work has increased the understanding of mental health issues of recently immigrated individuals in the Southern California border area.
