The UCSD Department of Pharmacology seeks highly qualified applicants for a non-tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Adjunct Professor level.
The Department provides a dynamic research and training environment committed to the use of complementary approaches to investigate the effects of chemical interventions on biological systems. We have a very highly esteemed, NIH-funded graduate training program in Pharmacological Sciences and contribute extensively to medical, pharmacy and biomedical sciences graduate student training. The department's educational and programmatic activities span multiple disciplines and actively encourage scientific discovery and collaboration. Applicants will be expected to teach selected aspects of pharmacology to graduate and professional students, to mentor thesis studies of Ph.D. students and to oversee an independent, contemporary and scholarly laboratory research program.
Applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD degrees. The ideal candidate will use novel research approaches or analytic technologies that complement and substantially expand current efforts of department faculty in areas relevant to signal transduction, drug discovery, molecular specificity of therapeutic or environmental agents, drug disposition and action, structural and computational biology, cancer biology and inflammation.
