Welcome to the Division of Nephrology

Rady Children's Comprehensive Kidney Care Center  treats children with kidney disease from birth to young adulthood (up to 21 years of age). We offer an all-encompassing level of care along the age continuum, from prenatal counseling and initial diagnosis, to dialysis, renal transplant and eventual transition to adult Nephrology services. The emphasis at the Comprehensive Kidney Care Center at Rady Children's is individualized care to meet the needs of each patient.  Children with advanced chronic kidney disease benefit from multi-disciplinary care at our center. The multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists and child life specialists.

Dr. Caitlin Carter is the Clinical Director and interim Division Chief of Pediatric of Nephrology at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. In her role as interim Division Chief, she has helped recruit a team of exceptional clinical faculty and promoted the Pediatric Nephrology program to national recognition.
