Information for Applicants

The UCSD/Children's Hospital Pediatric Infectious Disease Fellowship will accept one or two highly-qualified applicants per year. The duration of the training program is three years. Fellowships are offered for individuals holding the MD degree who will have completed general pediatric residency training prior to joining the program. Preference is given to United States citizens, but conditional acceptance has been granted to outstanding foreign candidates. Individuals holding a PhD in biomedical sciences who seek further research training in the laboratories of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases faculty may also be considered for acceptance.

After an initial screening process, qualified candidates will be asked to have three individuals who are familiar with their work and clinical abilities forward letters of recommendation on their behalf. Finalists for fellowship positions will be invited to visit San Diego and La Jolla to interview with the faculty and explore research opportunities.
