New Peer Support Program |

UCSD Department of
Pediatrics is very pleased to announce the launch of Connecting
Conversations, a new peer support program led by our Physician
Wellness Director, Dr. Ami Doshi. This program is for department
faculty and MSP physicians who may be dealing with stress or personal or
professional challenges. It is designed to foster connection and offers an
opportunity for sharing concerns. Connecting
Conversations Peer Supporters, trained in best practices for communication,
facilitate off-the-record, informal conversations that are meant to provide a
listening ear, provide perspective and guidance,
and possible referral to local resources. If
you need to talk, Connecting Conversations
Peer Supporters offer a safe space to express your thoughts and reactions. The Connecting
Conversations program is voluntary and completely
confidential. While peer support is a common pillar of physician well-being, it
is especially relevant in our current atmosphere. We have identified a peer
supporter for every member of our department. Be
on the lookout for a personal email introduction from your Connecting Conversations
peer supporter. It will contain more detail about the goals of the
program and provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. Questions?
