Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The Division of Child Development and Community Health offers 2 post-doctoral research fellowship positions. Fellows attend a monthly faculty development seminar aimed at fostering their skills in research design, writing, abstract and manuscript submission, presentations at scientific meetings, reviewing manuscripts, and grant writing. This seminar series is open to research fellows from other programs. Dr. Gahagan mentors a fellow in research related to Biological and Psychosocial Determinants of Adolescent Obesity and Cardiovascular Risk. This fellowship offers the opportunity to develop expertise in health disparities, child growth and development, circadian rhythm including sleep patterns, eating behavior, longitudinal data analysis and early biomarkers related to risk for cardiovascular disease. The next opening will be in July 2012. Dr. Daley mentors a post-doctoral fellow in Health Equity. This fellowship supports community-based health and/or health disparities research such as ethnography of community health systems, medical anthropology, adolescent health and social-cultural processes impacting community health. The fellowship offers research training and faculty mentoring to qualified scholars in all fields of research, teaching, and service. This position is funded by the National Institutes of Health National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, and is currently filled.
