Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics
Sherry Huang, MD is the Director of the Pediatrics Residency Program, and is involved in studies of kindreds with early colon cancer risk, with particular interest in patients with hamartomatous polyposis syndromes.
CLINICAL AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Huang’s research involves the evaluating the genetics of early colon cancer in children and its pathogenesis. Her research focuses on the role the oncogene, PTEN, plays in relation to DNA mismatch repair, as well as looking at the activation of Wnt signaling in hamartomatous polyposis. Dr. Huang also studies the AKT pathway in hamartomaotus polyps with a special focus on mTOR signaling.
