Ranjan Dohil, MD

Professor of Clinical Pediatrics

Dr. Dohil graduated medicine in the United Kingdom and trained in Pediatric Gastroenterology at UBC, Vancouver. He is very active in patient care and clinical research. He attends the Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorder clinic at Rady Children’s Hospital- San Diego.


Dr. Dohil is involved in research studies to better understand the natural history and treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis. He is also in the process of developing an Eosinophilic Disorders Database. His other clinical interests are inflammatory bowel disease and acid-peptic disease.

Dr. Dohil has ongoing research in cystinosis. In particular, he is interested in understanding the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, biodistribution and other potential uses of cysteamine. He is involved in clinical trials that are looking at alternative indications for this drug.
