Elizabeth Yu, MD

Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Yu is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

She graduated with honors from Brown University, where she also earned her medical degree at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. She then moved to the West Coast and completed her internship and residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at UC San Diego. 

During her fellowship, Dr. Yu was a Pediatric Scientist Development Program-sponsored research fellow and was involved in basic science research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. She continues to pursue clinical research. Her main clinical and research interests include pediatric obesity and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. She is also involved in the IBD center at Rady Children's Hospital.
