Academic General Pediatrics

​The faculty and staff in the Department of Academic General Pediatrics are committed to our mission of providing excellent, compassionate pediatric care while training the next generation of pediatricians. We have two clinics, in Kearny Mesa and La Jolla, and we see a diverse group of patients from various geographic, racial/ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We strive to give every child the highest-quality care and provide a welcoming and supportive environment to all families.

In addition to providing general pediatric care for newborns to young adults, we also provide the following specialized clinics and procedures: 

• Pediatric Travel Medicine
• PINC: Premature Infant Nutrition Clinic which offers post-discharge care of premature infants
• Breastfeeding/lactation support
• Prenatal consults for moms on chronic opioids
• Special Needs Clinic: for children requiring complex medical care
• Elective circumcision of boys within the 30 days of birth
  
• Telehealth visits
• Saturday morning clinics​
