UC San Diego School of Medicine will be following the recommendations released by the Coalition for Physician Accountability and will not be accepting visiting students for the 2020-2021 academic year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visiting away rotations at UCSD Orthopaedics are currently unavailable. In response, we have developed a virtual visiting medical student rotation for those interested in learning more about our residency training program.
The program will run monthly from July to November 2020 in two week rotations. This is intended for MS4 students. All meetings will be held via zoom.
Students who are accepted for participation in the UCSD Orthopedic Surgery Virtual Visiting Medical Student Rotation will:
1. Attend conferences, didactics, and journal club.
2. Give a 10 minute presentation during second week of rotation.
3. Meet with a resident and/or faculty one on one.
Students interested in applying for participation in our Virtual Visiting Medical Student Rotation should complete the online application form here or contact Sandra Gutierrez, Department Education Support Coordinator at email@example.com.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us directly. We appreciate your understanding during these complicated times.
Residency applicants should apply to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).
