Patient Care

As a woman, your health care needs are complex and ever changing.  At UCSD Medical Center, the Women's Health Care Services program is dedicated to caring for you at every stage of your life, not only when you are sick, but also when you are well.  We offer comprehensive women's health care at multiple locations throughout San Diego for your convenience.

Our physicians at UCSD partner with various other foundations and hospitals to bring needed expertise to patients in the communities.  Physicians and their patients can now benefit from the same high standards of care received at UCSD while staying close to work or home.

We have specialty clinics devoted to high-risk pregnancy, diabetes in pregnancy, placental dysfunction, obesity in pregnancy, endometriosis, fibroids, menopause, cancer, complex contraception, family planning, incontinence, and prolapse. Our obstetrical service provides the only in-hospital birthing center on the West Coast, managed by experienced clinical nurse midwives for that unique home birthing experience.

Our department is committed to providing a wide spectrum of the highest quality knowledge, patient care and service.

The Patient and Family Advisory Council, Women and Infants Services was founded in April 2011.  Its mission is to improve the safety, quality, and overall care experience for women and their families at UC San Diego Health.) For more information, email Susie Guidi.
