Mission Statement

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences adheres to the mission and goals established by the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and Health System. In addition, the UC San Diego Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science has four primary missions it must fulfill.

Our 4 Primary Missions

  1. To deliver comprehensive, compassionate, equity-focused, and evidence-based patient care of the highest quality that is responsive to the needs of the community, the region, and the nation.
  2. To advance medical knowledge in women's and reproductive health from discovery research to clinical application.
  3. Provide exceptional teaching and training programs for a diverse group of students, physicians, and scientists.
  4. To advocate for the needs of our community, welcoming patients of all ethnicities, genders, religions, and socioeconomic backgrouds.
